Yankee
Eye Candy
This
bike belongs to Bob Fornwalt (Yankee
Bob),
his trailer queen as he calls it.
Some
of the wording for these pictures
is
Bob's, some is mine, whatever
seems
to get the job done best!
A
bit of trivia for you Z lover's - note that it is
sitting
on two wooden blocks for the photos.
That's
because if everything on the bike
is
correct, the side stand was too long, and
the
bike was/is very "tippy." Yes, from the
factory.
Another slight oversight. ;^)
This
pic of the Yankee engine with the
velocity
stacks and short head pipes is
straight
from the original sales brochure.
This
Yankee belongs to Cody Tellus,
very
nice restoration!
Cody
is in sunny California, check out his
awesome
web site: www.bultacowest.com
These
4 Yankee's belong to Brad Powell, from
Marietta,
GA. He may have even more now.
Check
out another one of Brad's bikes, his Street
Tracker.
The chromed frame, black paint, and
polished
aluminum make this a sharp looking bike.
Brad's
web site is here: www.bradsbikes.net
Another
shot of one of Brad's bikes.
And,
another shot of one of Brad's, bikes!
Dick
Mann autographs one of Brad's bikes,
possibly
at Vinatge Days West.
Trent
Taylors tricked out street Yankee.
#912
belongs to Dave Gunn, who took a
Silver
medal in the '03 ISDT/RR.
Paul
Milliken (#911) also rode a Yankee, and
took
a Bronze medal for his trophy.
This
sharp looking bike is owned by Yankee Bob, one
of
three Yankees to participate in the '03 ISDT/RR.
In
the '03 ISDT/RR, Bob's bike hit a boulder
while
fording a stream, tearing off the left peg
and
shifter, and locking the bike in first gear.
Out
of competition for the day.
Ossa
built a street version of the Yankee,
only
a few were ever imported into the US.
They
only came in silver from the factory,
but
people have repainted them in lots
of
different colors.
