The Moscow subways are unbelievable. Stations are like small museums, with artwork, bronze statues, paintings, sculptures, etc.
They are also very efficient, and very clean. We spent several hours the first evening just visiting the most notable and historic stations.
This is a 3-D postcard of the Russian State Museum at Zagorsk. In it's many centuries of war, this fortress was one of the few to have never fallen into enemy hands.
The Russian Orthodox Church uses the unique "onion dome" style to signify their belief in a higher spirituality. These gold leaf examples were especially striking.
One of my favorite visits, St. Basils Cathedral is a world class example of unique and inspired architectural design. Built in the 15th century by Ivan the Terrible.
